From Wed, May 14 – Sat, Jun 7, 2025, Theatre on the Square lights up with A Doll’s House Part 2 – the Tony Award-nominated smash hit that brings to light the pros and cons of marriage in a way that critics have called "sharp, witty, and explosively entertaining."

Lucas Hnath’s A Doll’s House, Part 2 is a bold, biting sequel to Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen's groundbreaking classic that stirred controversy nearly 150 years ago. The story picks up 15 years after Nora Helmer infamous exit. Now a successful author and staunch critic of marriage, Nora returns to the house she once stormed out of, needing something from the very institution she once rejected. What unfolds is a tense, witty, and emotionally layered encounter between estranged spouses.

"A clever, engaging premise that brilliantly extends one of theatre’s most iconic stories." – The Weekend Special.

With an all-star South African cast led by Bianca Amato and Zane Meas, and directed by New York-based Barbara Rubin, this is a theatre event you don’t want to miss. As Adele Shevel wrote in Wanted Online: "Each of the four actors strikes a chord, raising ambiguities and ethical dilemmas with sharp and witty dialogue."

Clever, compelling theatre awaits. Expect fierce debate, biting humour, and a fresh, provocative take on love, marriage, and independence.  Book your seat now for A Doll’s House Part 2 at Theatre on the Square, from Wed, May 14 – Sat, Jun 7.

Performances take place Wed-Fri at 19:30, Sat at 16:00 and 20:00, and Sun, May 25 and Sun, Jun 1 at 15:00.
