David Wells, a retired mechanical engineer, who fought at the Battle of Delville Wood as a youngster in 1916, relives the Battle, in Peter Terry's play At All Costs, showing in July at Theatre on the Square in Sandton.

This solo theatre piece performed by Peter Terry and directed by internationally acclaimed director Janice Honeyman, sees one man on stage flanked by nothing more than a chair and a map of a location where thousands died to protect an idea of victory — at all costs. Celebrated arts critic Bruce Dennill applauds the powerful simplicity showcased in this one-man show, making it an intriguing production for those who have been itching to go to the theatre.

Curtains for performances of At All Costs open on Jul 12–15 then Jul 19–23 at the Theatre On The Square
