Every year at the end of November the French celebrate the arrival of the famous Beaujolais Nouveau red wine.  Made from Gamay grapes produced in the Beaujolais region of France, this is France's most popular 'vin de primeur', a wine that is fermented for just a few weeks before being released for sale. With the slogan "Le Beaujolais nouveau est arrivé!" Beaujolais Day has long been a popular celebration in France and elsewhere with the Beaujolais wine tastings usually accompanied by food, music and an all-round festive atmosphere.

The Alliance Francaise in Parkview continues this tradition of celebrating this unique French wine by hosting a Beaujolais Nouveau party with great music and plenty of wine tasting. Tickets cost R100 (R80 for students) and include a glass of this unique French wine.
