Bedford Centre
Originally developed in the early 1970s and extensively revamped in 2006, the centre in Bedfordview attracts city dwellers looking for a more intimate mall experience (it's a lot smaller and has a more high-end feel compared to nearby mega-mall, Eastgate Shopping Centre). Bedford Centre features an underground link that joins the east and west wings with a European-inspired, open-air courtyard surrounded by eateries, a children’s play area and welcoming coffee shops.
Blending office, retail and living spaces (it has attched, upmarket apartments as well as a medical suite and office block), Bedford Centre features the likes of George's Grillhouse, Salsa Mexican Grill, Mythos, Brooklyn Brothers and Lupa Osteria. The centre boasts a fairly large Exclusive Books, a Planet Fitness Mega Club, two cinemas (Nu Metro and Ster Kinekor), a Starbucks, Mugg & Bean, and Woolworths Café. Speciality stores have also found a home at Bedford Centre including Paul’s Homemade Ice Cream, Smoker's Den and Whisky Brother & Co.
