Joburg's original outdoor market celebrates its 40th birthday this month. Launched in 1976, in an effort to raise funds for Michael Mount Waldorf School, the market has since grown into one of the biggest and most popular in the province with more than 130 stalls selling a fantastic range of high quality African arts and craft, fashion and the most wholesome selection of organic foodstuffs and products.<br /> <br /> In celebration of their birthday month the market is hosting a range of special events every week including talks and presentations on health and wellness, live music performances, fashion shows, hands-on crafting workshops and demonstrations and a charity knitathon.<br /> <br /> Open Thu, Sat and public holidays 09:00-15:00.
