This bookings-only pop-up restaurant in Forest Town is overseen by the vivacious Su-Yen Thornhill of Scottish-Chinese extraction. After securing a booking via whatsapp (we advise you to book well in advance as dinners can sell out quickly), arrive at Su-Yen's home by the time appointed and get ready for a fun night out with a multi-course Asian-influenced tasting menu (and remember to bring your own drinks!)

The menu is different each time (inspired by available seasonal ingredients picked up locally or according to popular holidays such as Thai songkran) and everything you will taste is home-made that evening including the excellent hoisin sauce that you will want to pour over every morsel. Thornhill’s dishes are beautifully plated and each dish is to be relished. Menu standouts when we visited were the chicken and egg drop sweetcorn soup, shitake and shimeji mushrooms with lotus root greens and sesame-crusted seared tuna with daikon radish and pickled ginger. The flavours here are intense and varied – a real treat as each dish is memorable. 

In addition to opulent ten-course themed banquets, Chez Fong also hosts regular easy-going three or five-course lunches and early dinners. Keep your eye on the Chez Fong facebook page for the latest.

Meals are strictly by prior booking only and dietary requirements need to be mentioned when booking. Su-Yen can also accomodate private functions and catering.
