South African Afro-pop sensation Freshlyground and the much loved 'kasi soul' a capella ensemble The Soil join forces to present a new collaborative single Mna Nalamagenge at this concert sponsored by Kaya FM. Freshlyground lead singer Zolani Mahola described the collaboration as "a dream come true for both teams. The title [of the new single] literally means 'me and my gang' or 'me and my crew' and it’s a study on the bond that is created when a close group of people endure hardships together and celebrate life together. We love The Soil and I’m sure people will agree they were the perfect fit for the tune!”.

Formed in 2002 Freshlyground is a multi-national ensemble made up of musicians from South Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe which has taken the world by storm (even Barack Obama is a fan) with their unique blend of pop and folk music with a distinctly African flavour. Hailing from Soweto, The Soil, is one of South Africa's most beloved a capella vocal groups whose music is a mix of contemporary township styles and melodies and urban sounds such as beat-boxing.
