An exhibition celebrating the life of the father of South African Jazz, Bra Hugh Masekela, Home Is Where The Music Is includes rarely seen photographs and memorabilia from the late Hugh Masekela's personal archive, unique prints made by local artists and the famous Louis Armstrong trumpet that Masekela played on stage.

Many of the works in the exhibition are on sale including prints by Artist Proof Studio alumni Mongezi Ncaphayi and Lebogang Sithole, works from The Artists’ Press Jazz Series by Sam Nhlengetwha and photographs by acclaimed photographer Brett Rubin, who acted as Bra Hugh’s personal photographer.

Opening event: The exhibition opens on Wed July 13 from 16:00 with DJ Bob on the decks playing a jazz-filled set. 

The exhibition takes place at the Art & About pop-up gallery in the RMB Precinct, 8 Merchant Place, cnr Fredman Dr and Rivonia Rd, Sandton Central.
