This trampoline arena at the back of a nondescript shopping centre in Roodepoort consists of 1000 square metres of bouncing fun, including plenty of small individual trampolines for tame jumping, plus larger trampolines for those brave enough to attempt gravity-defying tricks. Whether you're a novice or self-declared expert, there are plenty of professional 'iJUMPERS' on hand to show you the ropes and give pointers on how to execute the perfect backflip.

At iJump the humble trampoline has been taken to new heights. You can (literally) bounce off the walls, pelt your airborne mates in the dodgeball section, get competitive in the basketball “court” or if you're tired of jumping take a dive in the massive foam pit. Just be warned it is a mission to get out of and you may exit minus a sock or two. Each session in the arena lasts one hour, which unless you are some sort of athletic super-human, is probably more than enough exercise.

For kids under the age of 6 there’s iKIDZ, a downsized replica of the main arena replete with miniature versions of the trampolines and foam pit, plus a small maze. Parents can keep an eye on their tots on screens in the Sliders Cafe, while enjoying an ice-cream or a cup of coffee. Kid's party packages start at R180 per jumper.

After your session, compensate for all the calories you have burned off at the cafe, where you can mix and match an eclectic menu of mini burgers. If you like the sweet stuff we highly recommend the Double Bar One Chocolate milkshake or chocolate soft-serve ice-cream made even more delicious served slathered over waffles on a stick.
