Joburg Ballet is Johannesburg's full-time professional ballet company and the only one of its kind in South Africa. The company has a proud track record of developing young dancers from all backgrounds, and is well-known and loved for its modern approach to ballet classics. Their innovative productions aim to give the classics a unique South African flavour and inspire new young audiences who may not be familiar with this beautiful dance form.

Joburg Ballet stages its productions at the city's largest theatre, Joburg Theatre, with select performances in Cape Town.

For Joburg Ballet's 2023 season, the company has chosen to stage a series of short works in the first half of the year, followed by three full-length classic ballets. The Joburg Ballet 2023 season will take place between March 17 and October 8, with multiple show dates throughout.

La Traviata - The Ballet (Baxter Theatre, Cape Town): Wednesday 26 July – Saturday 29 July
Don Quixote (Joburg Theatre): Friday 29 September – Sunday 8 October
