Register to learn German online with the Goethe-Institut. With the world in lockdown, there's never been a better time to learn a new language, one of the best ways to keep your mind busy, stay inspired and connect with new people online!

No matter whether you are using a smartphone, tablet or laptop, it's very easy to join in the Goethe-Institut's fun and interactive online learning experience which has been developed by some of the world's leading experts in the field of digital language learning.

Just because you are learning remotely doesn't mean that your teacher will be too far away! The Goethe-Institut's online courses include plenty of tutor supervision including regular personal feedback from your teacher throughout the course on your speaking and writing assignments as well as virtual Live Chat classroom lessons with your teachers twice a week.

As well as online class time with teachers from Germany and your fellow classmates, the Goethe-Institut's courses also include access to an online learning platform where you can make use of extensive versatile and hands-on learning materials, flexibly plan your online exercises and receive automated feedback.

How to enroll and start learning!

Courses last for nine weeks with two or three (intensive course) virtual classes a week. The next semester starts from the second week of July and you have until Friday July 17 to sign up to join the course.

Courses cost from R4,500 for nine weeks including all materials (which works out at R500 per week).

You can sign up straight away to get learning here at the Goethe Institut website or email the Goethe-Institute Johannesburg team at JOH-LearnGerman@goethe.de.

The more you learn, the more excited and motivated you'll be for having a thoroughly enriching holiday abroad when the global crisis has ended.

Furthermore, if you are finding yourself spending ever more time communicating with colleagues and friends overseas while you are working from home, making the effort to learn their language is an excellent way to enhance your connection and team spirit, as well as being a very valuable skill to add to your resume.
