It boasts the title of Africa’s tallest building and is home to the highest bar urban in Africa, Alto234; now The Leonardo in Sandton also plays host to South Africa’s highest conference and events venue.

Opened in March 2024, Level 45 is a blank slate waiting to be transformed. Whether it’s an elevated conference, a special birthday, elaborate event, or even a wedding, Level 45 offers the venue with the views to match.

The space is unadorned, featuring industrial-like finishes and a simple, grey carpet but because it’s located on the 45th floor of The Leonardo, the views are the big drawcard. Built around the centre of the building, the elevators open to either side to reveal a space built in a circle with a bar in the middle, meaning you’ll be afforded 360-degree views of Joburg. It offers a great vantage point for sundowners and reveals a special sight when Joburg’s lights start twinkling (in the absence of loadshedding, of course).

Full-length windows and glass doors make this venue weatherproof without having to offer up the views.

The food and beverage offering will be put together by the team from Aurum, meaning every delicious detail can be left to the professionals.
