Get your backpacks ready and pack yourself a picnic for a weekend out of the city and some unique countryside adventures at this year's Magalies Rocks the Cradle Festival. This delightful community festival takes place in and around the village of Magaliesburg with more than 100 different events ranging from concerts and art exhibitions to nature walks, food markets and guided historical tours happening at 50 different venues in the Magalies region. 

The festival was first launched in 2016 as an opportunity for visitors to experience the many different highlights that the region has to offer and has grown significantly since its first edition with everything from pie-making classes to a vintage car show and no fewer than seven different food and craft markets happening at different locations during this year's three-day festival. In an effort to make parking and exploring the area easier this year there is a hop-on-hop-off shuttle bus service that will transport visitors between the main festival areas.
