Manaka Coffee is a local coffee chain known for its grab-and-go coffee bars, now found at Midrand Sasol (the Sasol brand is currently expanding in all sorts of interesting directions to bring new life to the garage) forecourts in Waterfall, Old Pretoria Road, and Allandale. Waterfall's upmarket Polofields Crossing Lifestyle Centre is their flagship coffee shop, cafe and roastery that serves up quality coffee and a unique South African food menu. It's a trendy spot tastefully decorated in warm chocolate tones with modern finishes, comfortable leather seating and a sleek coffee bar designed as an inviting space to show off the simplicity of modern African design.

Manaka started out in 2016 in Bryanston as a micro-roastery and coffee bar. Co-owner Bradley Symons worked passionately to craft refined specialty coffees made with beans sourced from all over the world, and together with a team of like-minded individuals he created Manaka Coffee. Now based in Midrand this is an authentically African coffee brand known for its smooth and rich coffees.

On offer at Manaka Coffee's Polofields coffee shop you can enjoy specialty coffee that is hand-roasted by  renowned roaster, Phumlani Sibeko, in small batches, carefully crafted to create a truly unique coffee experience. The signature blend, Phats and Bones, is smooth and delicious, with lingering notes of cherry and dark chocolate.

If you're looking for something unique, ask the knowledgeable manager Richard if he has a single origin in the hopper, and how he'd suggest you drink it. From a pour-over to a velvety smooth flat white, the quality of coffee offered at Manaka is undisputed. We recommend trying the single-origin India Yercaud when you visit.

In addition to the coffees, another Manaka speciality is its strictly halaal traditional South African-inspired food menu. In addition to the daily specials, crowd favourites include the Big Manaka Burger, the brilliant boerie roll, and Manaka's unique lamb and chutney magwinya (vetkoek) that are sure to leave you with a nostalgic warm glow for classic South African food.
