Joburg jazz enthusiasts finally have an opportunity to catch Grammy award-winning Gregory Porter live on stage with his solo concert tour. The Jazz icon announced that SAMA-nominated indie-folk vocalist and guitarist Msaki will be opening the Johannesburg shows of his South African tour, taking place at the Teatro stage at Montecasino.

Fans of the supremely talented Msaki (we are among them) are excited for her three-day opening solo performances especially because the singer recently announced she was leaving the public stage that is social media. Msaki’s husky and powerful vocals have garnered her comparisons to soul legends such as Tracy Chapman. Her music is a beguiling mix of soulful folk, isiXhosa lyrics and symphonic movements as she spins tales of love, loss, revolution and hope.
