It's hard to believe that South African graffiti legend Rasty Knayles hasn't until now had a solo show. It's About Time is the first exhibition dedicated solely to his work, at Grayscale Gallery in Braamfontein. 

You've likely seen his work in the city streets. Knayles has been painting graffiti since the late 90s, his style spanning playful, sometimes surreal characters and idiosyncratic lettering. He brings these skills to his prolific career as a tattoo artist by day. He's also the owner of Grayscale, part store, part gallery (and Joburg's first gallery dedicated to graffiti) that's played an important role in pushing the scene forward over the years.

It's About Time opens at Grayscale Store and Gallery from Sat, Dec 2 from 12:00 to 18:00.
