Twyg (pronounced twig) is a Cape Town-based fashion and culture magazine with a strong commitment to sustainability. Their monthly Swap & Mend pop-up is coming to Joburg on Sat, May 13 for the first time, hosted at Levi’s Haus of Strauss Africa in Parktown

The Joburg edition of Swap & Mend is a collaboration between Goethe-Institut Johannesburg, Southern Africa Arts - British Council, Levi's South Africa and clothing alterations and repair service, Patch and Stitch SA.

By circulating and repairing clothes "you’re helping to reimagine fashion, and putting care at the heart of a new fashion system," towards the reduction of the fashion industry's impact on the planet by implementing more sustainable and greener practices when it comes to what we wear.

To join this event all you need to do is bring a maximum of five clean, unbroken, good-condition clothes. You can swap for the same number of clothes as the good quality clothes that you bring and be sure to bring your mending kit and join our community of sustainable fashion lovers.

The event is free but space is limited, contact Thoriso Moseneke Thoriso.moseneke@extern.goethe.de to RSVP and for additional details.
