In her new exhibition Transgressing Power, Usha Seejarim reframes domestic day-to-day activities, giving ordinary household items such as broomsticks and pegs, a new and extraordinary lease of life as imaginative and intricate sculptures. In this bold and intriguing collection of works domestic quietism and the mundane character of household chores are transformed into a mysterious and poetic language of wit, force, sensuousness and defiance.
