Where to celebrate Father's Day in Joburg

08 Jun 2023
It's Father's Day on Sun, Jun 18, 2023 and if you are still stuck for ideas on how to make the day special for the father figure in your life, here are some suggestions.

Father's Day Screening of Big Fish at The Bioscope

Big Fish (2003)
Treat your dad to a morning movie on Sun, Jun 18 from 11:00 at The Bioscope at 44 Stanley with a screening of the 2003 Tim Burton film, Big Fish. The film weaves a mesmerising tale centred around the relationship between a frustrated son, Will Bloom, and his larger-than-life father, Edward Bloom. As Edward's life approaches its end, Will embarks on a journey to uncover the truth behind his father's extraordinary stories.

Treat Dad to a designer trim at the barbershop

Some favourites that elevate getting a trim to a special occasion include the retro-cool Bespoken Man at The Bank in Rosebank and the Sandton Gautrain Station (they've also got a great whisky selection) and Bar Ber Black Sheep's bar/barbershop on Parkwood's buzzing Park Corner on Bolton Road. For some serious grooming Rockets Man (branches in Fourways, Rosebank and Sandton) "put the Man in manicures" and also offer hair and beard colouring, eyebrow threading and tinting, facials and other treatments as well as "haircuts for little rockstars" if you want to make it a father-son outing. For the coolest beard and head shaves you can't beat the barbershop chain with a cult following, Legends Barber, the barbershop of choice for South Africa's hip hop greats. Find them countrywide.
