Ljubljana In Your Pocket Turns 100!
10 Dec 2025It's been quite a long and winding road from those earliest days of putting the guide together - from getting to meet countless interesting people, dine at some amazing restaurants and attend some unforgettable events to the excitement, chaos and adrenaline rush of having to work around the clock to make sure the next issue got sent off to the printer in time.
Our team has grown and shrunk regularly over the years, but we've always been a close knit, international office, with our editorial contributors hailing from around the world - England has perhaps been best represented, although there have also been quite a few Americans, at least one Australian, a Kiwi way back in the day, a Maltese, a Dutchman, a Welshman, an Alaskan and a handful of Slovenes whose English could pass for being native.
t hasn't always been smooth sailing. There have been plenty of ups and downs along the way, with the Covid pandemic the most glaring seismic shift in our industry - shuttering tourism for months and changing the way people travel. But that storm has been weathered, and we're now ready to face future ones. Most likely this will be from the tsunami of AI slop that the tech monopolies seem intent on forcing into everyone's life whether we want it or not [note to the tech monopolies: We don't, please stop, please, cheers!].
But in these uncertain times, you can rest assured that our content will always be written by local, flesh and blood Ljubljana residents. Look no further than the typos and minor grammatical errors herein for proof of our humanity! Predicting the future will always be a fool's errand, perhaps more so than ever nowadays, but there's nothing wrong with being a fool, so we feel confident that tourists, expats and locals alike will continue reading and trusting Ljubljana In Your Pocket for many more years to come.
A big thanks to all of our readers, partners and team members who have made these first 100 issues possible!
