Although most of Ljubljana’s sights are within easy walking distance for even the most unfit or laziest of people, the city possesses fairly efficient bus network for reaching attractions further afield such as the Zoo, BTC City and even distant Šmarna Gora. The entire fleet is continually being modernised, so most of the time you can expect a comfortable ride. Schedules are displayed at all stops, and fares can now conveniently be paid using any contactless payment card (ie Visa, Mastercard and the like). Alternatively, if you like collecting functional souvenirs from the cities you visit, Ljubljana has an Urbana card, which can be purchased at the central LPP office, posts offices, and most of the ticket kiosks near stops, then topped up. Fares are €1.50 regardless of the payment method, but Urbana cards include a 90-minute transfer window, while contactless cards don't.
