The National Museum of Slovenia is proud to present The Gold of Chinese Emperors exhibition. This exclusive presentation of items from the Dong Bo Zhai collection is made up of 145 gold pieces dating back to the Wanli period of 1573-1620. On display for the first time in Slovenia the display is a private collection of the founder of the Quijiang Museum of Fine Arts in Xi’an, China. The pieces on show include jewellery and tableware of high artistic merit which would have represented the social status of their owners. Other pieces depict five clawed dragons and phoenixes that reveal connections to the imperial family.
