The ever-increasing amount of plastic in the environment has led to the development of hybrid forms of life in which nature intertwines with man-made waste. Animals impregnated with (micro)plastic, genetically modified plants or stone plastic conglomerates are just some of the many phenomena that point to a new era in the anthropogenic development of our planet.  

Plastonci, a puppet and musical show, builds on these apparitions of modern life into an ecological fantasy narrative about a community of unusual creatures that has developed from human plastic waste on a garbage island in the middle of the ocean. In it, we observe the peculiarities and follow the events of plastonic life until the moment when they face the mystery of their origin. Through their eyes, we look at the time we are living right now and the destiny that awaits us.

The story is acted out with the help of puppets and original musical instruments built from marine plastic waste. The performance offers a starting point for puppetry and musical creation at school, as well as reflection on the pressing ecological and social issues of our time.
