Long known as one of Ljubljana's most popular alternative nightlife and live music venues, the beloved Prulček recently underwent extensive renovations and emerged from its figurative chrysalis as Sato Prulček - still home to music and culture, but now also offering a Japanese'style fusion dining experience, courtesy of chef Shin Sato (of Sato Bento). The menu is based on the Izakaya concept, which features small, shared portions, perfect for casually sampling a variety of dishes. A bistro lunch is available daily, while in the mornings there are sandwiches and Japanese onigiri, ideal for on-the-go. Occasionally, an omakase menu will be prepared, where the chef will choose a three- or four-course set menu - reservations a must.
