Yep, when the GrandMothers of Invention paid us their first visit, they proved they more than faithfully carry on Zappa‘s legacy of entertaining satire, virtuosic improvisation and free-minded sonic experimentation. At their 15th anniversary, they’re coming back with a line-up consisting of long-time The Mothers of Inventionmembers Bunk Gardner, Don Preston and Ed Mann, along with later arrival Christopher Garcia, and a repertoire of numerous eclectic classics, as well as a bunch of pointed humorous remarks. Though Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention are gone, their music and spirit are alive and kicking in the “grandmas”.
