Owing at least partially to the fact that the Slovenians still seem to enjoy having leisurely sit-down lunches, food trucks and takeaway stands have yet to catch on in Ljubljana the way they have in other parts of the world. However, one glaring exception to this rule is the northeast corner of the city's central market (centralna tržnica), which now boasts a row of no less than half a dozen stands, including a Balkan grill, several fish places, a mobile bakery and even a Broaster Chicken outlet. With all the healthy fresh produce available just steps away in the market, the tempting smells wafting out from the deep fryers and greasy grills feel like an even guiltier pleasure than they would otherwise.
