Vodnikov hram
Vodnikov hram is a cosy, historic gostilna that has stood opposite Vodnikov trg since the 19th century, named after national poet Valentin Vodnik. Its vaulted brick ceilings and rustic wooden décor create the perfect setting for hearty Slovenian favourites like golaž, roast pork, and Kranjska klobasa with sauerkraut. Portions are generous and prices friendly. Outdoor seating adds to the charm—just steps from the castle funicular. A perfect pit stop for a comforting, authentically Slovene meal without pretension.

We were recomended to this restaurant by a friend . He highley recomended it. What a dissapointment????. The service was not there at all. We felt that we were aburdon on the server. As if we were bothering him. We got water and Lemonade and no service. When we asked for menues he gave 2 for 5 People. Then we sat another 20 minutes and decided to leave. I will not recomend this restaurant due to poor service.

Being located just next to the fenicula railway it became a bit of a tourist trap. We were eating with the four of us and made quite a big bill without knowing by ordering some mineral water next to our meal, and ordering some fish that was huge and charged by weight. They brought a bottle of 1,5 litre and charged the whole bottle per deciliter which was 12 euros for one bottle of water. Two persons chose daily fish, and the waiter suggested they share a little bit bigger fish, enough for two people. The fish was huge (way too much) and brought on the big plate which didn't fit on the table, so they put it on another table and messed around for 15 minutes to get two fillets on two plates, so the rest of the food was cold before we could start eating. The rest of the fish they took away. When we got the bill we were surprised at the prices of the water and fish, which of course was charged by ounces, so a big fish for them means more money. When we payed we were surprised by another rude action of the waiter just taking the money out of the check folder and walking away.
