Join Jozi my Jozi and Young Urbanists for a pilot car-free activities experiment on Main Street in Marshalltown, inspired by Cape Town’s Bree St Sundays on Sun, Feb 15, 2026 from 10:00 – 20:00. 

Before the holiday season kicks in, Main Street will transform into a vibrant space for families, children, and the community to walk, cycle, skate, play, and connect in the heart of Joburg.

Main St Sundays takes its inspiration from sister event, Bree St Sundays in Cape Town. If the ethos speaks to you, there are ways to get involved. Participants can volunteer to support with operations, data collection, media, and logistics, or host an activation: something small, creative, and inclusive. All forms of participation should be safe, family-friendly, and community-oriented. Details to follow.
