Podkarpackie ('Subcarpathia' in English) is a culturally diverse and spectacular region, straddling the far southeast corner of Poland, and bordering both Ukraine and Slovakia. It can be divided into the following subregions: Bieszczady, The Low Beskids, Rzeszów and its surrounds, The Valley of the San and Vistula Rivers, and Roztocze.
