The Poznań museum is hosting an exhibition called "Barbie | Unknown faces" to celebrate the 64th birthday of the world's most famous doll. The exhibition features several dozen different versions of Barbie, showcasing how the perception of women has changed over the past few decades since the doll's creation in the late 1950s. Each incarnation of the famous doll reflects the social changes that have taken place in individual decades of the 20th and 21st centuries, not only in American society but around the world.

The exhibition raises questions about the position of women in the modern world, using Barbie as a cultural phenomenon to explore issues such as racism, age discrimination, and exclusion due to disability. The exhibition aims to provoke visitors to consider whether Barbie represents the ideal of beauty and whether the roles she portrays truly reflect the participation and position of women in today's reality.

The items on display at the exhibition come from private collections, including those of Teresa Iwańczuk, Paulina Jarysz, Izabela Kłos, and Grzegorz Zdzieborski, and were originally produced by Mattel. The exhibition provides visitors with an excellent opportunity to see the evolution of the iconic Barbie doll and to consider the role of this cultural phenomenon in shaping society's perception of women.
