Thursday Nov 14 - Saturday Nov 16

The Nostalgia Festival (14-16.11) is an innovative music project, designed to present to an audience a contemporary circle of artists focused mainly around ECM Records.  Their music reaches deeply to the artists' national roots (Armenian, Estonian, Georgian, Polish, Russian and Ukrainian). This 2019 festival honours Krzysztof Komeda, who was one of the best and least understood precursors of Polish modern jazz. The National Museum in Poznań will be the stage of new renditions of Komeda’s music performed by Piotr Orzechowski, Kuba Więcek, Ares Chadzinikolau, and the Oles Brothers Trio. The festival weekend will also feature two documentaries about the composer. In addition, the works of Gia Kancheli, one of the most renowned and original composers from Georgia will be performed by violist Marcin Murawski and Georgian pianist Nino Jvania.
