The Way of St. James is a marked route taken by pilgrims to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Northwestern Spain, the location of the remains of the apostle St. James. The route is regularly marked with a scalloped seashell - which you will see here - and the segment in Poznań is just a section of a large circuit that branches across Europe and directs pilgrims to the Cathedral. The pilgrimage was made famous recently in the 2010 Martin Sheen film The Way in which a father completes the pilgrimage that was begun by his deceased son.
