Skalpel Big Band is synonymous with a classical European jazz sound. Marcin Cichy and Igor Pudło translated Polish 60s and 70s jazz into a modern electronic sound, creating a finely structured, emotional music. But it was the meeting with Patryk Piłasiewicz, bassist and composer, that paved the way to the creation of the jazz big band which fused their existing electronic sound with the new acoustic one. This allowed the band to experiment with their music more freely, which resulted in series of great sounding jazz improvisations.
