Poznań's Old Town Square Christmas market is back!

After extensive renovations which moved most of Poznań's winter holiday festivities elsewhere for several years, Stary Rynek is back in service and full of festive spirit. In fact, things got so cosy and merry at MTP and Plac Wolności in its absence that Poznań now boasts an incredible three full-season holiday fairs - something no other city in Poland can match!

Although the last of Poz's holiday markets to open, the Old Town Square Christmas Market is arguably its most charming, thanks to the beauty of the location, lit up with festive lights. In addition to dozens of wooden chalets offering hand-crafted ornaments, regional delicacies like 'pyra z gzikiem' and St. Martin's croissants, and steaming mugs of hot chocolate and mulled wine, visitors can expect a 400m2 ice skating rink and handsome 19th-century Venetian carousel.

The cherry on top of it all, of course, is the annual Poznań Ice Festival, which will take place from December 12-14 in 2025. Over the three days, huge crowds will assemble to see world-class artists armed with chainsaws and chisels creating dazzling crystalline sculptures against the backdrop of the Old Town's Square's beautiful architecture and seasonal decorations. It's the peak of the Christmas season in Poznań, so don't miss it.
