ROHE Hostel is a cosy and environmentally friendly accommodation located in a peaceful green area on the edge of Tartu city centre. Here, comfort, affordability, and a sustainable lifestyle come together. The hostel is part of the RoheMu Campus—the student campus of the Estonian University of Life Sciences—which is home to nearly a thousand students studying in Tartu. Guests stay amidst a vibrant, youthful community full of energy and life.
We offer a variety of room types suitable for solo travellers as well as larger groups. Among them are two spacious rooftop apartments that boast stunning panoramic views of the city. All guests have access to fully equipped kitchens with everything needed to prepare a delicious meal. Free Wi-Fi is available in every room, and we prioritise environmentally conscious choices throughout the hostel. For example, our bedding is made from organic cotton, washed using ecological and allergen-free detergents, and deliberately left un-ironed to save energy. We also encourage waste sorting and minimising plastic use.
Guests enjoy free access to the on-site sports hall, where they can work out and relax in the sauna. In the lobby, the GoBox vending machine offers quick coffee and snack breaks. A laundry room is also available, where you can wash and dry your clothes conveniently using natural cleaning products.
You'll also find a food-sharing cabinet in the lobby, regularly stocked by volunteers with surplus food rescued from local shops—helping reduce food waste and prevent edible items from ending up in the bin.
Free parking is available right by the building in a gated area, and there’s a secure bike shed for storing bicycles. Additionally, a Tartu Smart Bike Share station is located just next to the building.
Right beside the hostel is a lovely green park area, complete with comfortable seating, a table tennis table, hammocks, and a community greenhouse. Within a short walk, you’ll find Tartu Song Festival Grounds, the largest concrete skatepark in the Baltics along with a pump track, Tähtvere Sports Park, and disc golf courses.
