Described as a "festival of coffee" and South Africa’s biggest coffee event, the Jo’burg Coffee Festival (formerly known as the Specialty Coffee Expo) marks a new chapter for the much-loved event. What began as a niche industry event has evolved into a full-scale celebration of coffee culture – without losing its speciality roots.
Did you know? Only around 6% of the world’s coffee qualifies as “speciality” – beans graded to the highest standards for quality and flavour.
This year, the event moves to a spacious rooftop setting at Fourways Mall, giving the experience a more open, festival-style feel. Explore the Roasters Village packed with South Africa’s top speciality roasters, taste your way through the Sample Bar and join daily cupping sessions to sample exceptional coffees from across the globe. Plus, discover the latest brew tools and coffee equipment, and join educational sessions presented by the African School of Coffee.
Beyond the brews, expect a full festival line-up: food stalls, a craft beer and wine bar, and live music.
