A lesser-known attraction in Joburg, Sasol Art Gallery in Sandton is well worth a visit, being one of two bases for Sasol's immense art collection. Totalling at some 2,500 artworks, the variety, quality, and history of work on show is hard to come by elsewhere in Johannesburg. In addition to displaying works from the Sasol Art Collection, the gallery hosts contemporary exhibitions in support of its New Signatures competition. Visiting is also a chance to marvel at the Sasol building – an architectural landmark in its own right.
