The Body/Mind Festival is one of the oldest dance festivals in Poland promoting independent and the most innovative tendencies in modern dance and choreography, in Poland and all over the world. The festival focuses particularly on the experimental dance forms that break all conventions, inspire a global intercultural dialogue, while tackling such issues as ethnic, social, cultural and sexual identity. It attempts to debunk myths and stereotypes omnipresent in today's world. The thought-provoking festival is a unique combination of a variety of cultures, aesthetics and artistic styles.

The goal of this year's Festival will be to explore the definition of femininity and re-defining this concept. Focusing on concepts of exclusion, forgetfulness, marginalization, abuse, attention will primarily be on those issues that also apply to the private lives of artists who have become part of the public domain. The main character of focus to study this new phenomena will be Isadora Duncan (1877-1927), who not only revolutionised 20th century dance, but also became a feminist icon, creating a new model of dance, functioning as a nomadic freelancer.

An important element of this year's program will be the presentation of the creative process through interviews with artists preparing this year's premieres, reports from rehearsals and meetings. The Body/Mind e-stage started on June 6, soon to be followed in September and October by more events at Studio Teatr and the Ujazdowski Castle Center for Contemporary Art.
