It's that day again - when literally every single person you encounter on the street will be sporting a red heart sticker (and those who don't will be endlessly harassed by unnaturally cheerful people with collection boxes). What do they symbolise? They're proof that you donated to the Christmas Charity (WOŚP), proceeds from which go towards purchasing new and needed medical equipment for the Polish healthcare system. Coordinated by volunteers in every city and small town across the entire country, this is a very worthy cause, so don't be a Grinch - be generous!
WOŚP Finale in Warsaw 2024
While the fundraising campaign takes place all year long, the WOŚP Finale is Poland's single biggest fund-raising event - a final push to set a new fund-raising record, which the organisation has astonishingly accomplished every year since starting in 1993. On this day you'll not only see people with heart stickers and collection boxes, but there are also numerous free events, concerts and other attractions organised, giving the capital a music festival vibe.
