Polish History Museum
Located just north of the Old Town, by the ruins of the Warsaw Citadel, this museum opened to the public in September (though actual Polish History Museum events have been held for long before the physical space was constructed).
There are plenty of history museums throughout Warsaw, of course (including the popular Museum of Warsaw in the old town and the seriously must-see POLIN museum of Jewish History). But if you're coming to the capital city and wondering where the full, extensive picture of Poland's past is located, well then you've found it!
This museum starts with an overview of the Jagiellonian Dynasties in the 14th and 15th centuries before moving on to the Polish Commonwealth in the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. The partition of Poland, the reunification, the period of WWII and the decades of communism that followed (it's quite the history!)
The museum's historians and curators have set up the exhibits with a focus on three themes: freedom, identity, and change.
