From September 5 to 7, 2025, the city of Varaždin will host the ITG Regional Conference – a major international gathering organized by the International Trumpet Guild (ITG). This marks the Guild’s first European event in over two decades and brings together prominent trumpet performers, educators, and enthusiasts from across the world.
The conference will feature a rich program of concerts, masterclasses, lectures, and panel discussions, with a special focus on artistic exchange between Croatian and international musicians. Events will take place at several historic venues in Varaždin’s Baroque center, enhancing the experience with the city’s unique architectural and cultural backdrop.

The official opening of the conference will take place on Friday, September 5, with a concert by the Jazz Orchestra of the Croatian Armed Forces. Under the direction of Major Davor Dropuljić, this renowned ensemble performs a broad repertoire ranging from jazz standards to contemporary works. The orchestra has earned a reputation for musical excellence and frequently collaborates with leading soloists both in Croatia and internationally.

For this occasion, the Jazz Orchestra will be joined by a lineup of acclaimed trumpet soloists from the USA, Europe, and Australia, including names such as Jens Lindemann, Andrea Tofanelli, Rex Richardson, and others. The concert will be held in a festive atmosphere, setting the tone for a weekend of music-making and cultural exchange.

With its vibrant musical heritage and tradition as a “City of Music,” Varaždin provides an ideal setting for the ITG Regional Conference. The event highlights not only the trumpet as a versatile and expressive instrument but also Croatia’s growing role on the international musical stage.
