This easily reachable resort (75 minutes from Zurich) is nice for beginners and kids. Located high above Lake Walensee, you’ll find 6 lifts, the highest one taking you up to just over 1600 metres a.s.l. Slopes are not very steep, especially in the Arvenbüel part of the resort. There is a skiing school, a sledge run, cross country skiing and some trails for walks. A handful of restaurants make sure you will not starve. This is a cosy skiing experience not far from Zurich. Take a train to Ziegelbrücke, there catch the bus to Amden.
