Zurich

Guild Museum

Obere Zäune 19     more than a year ago
Meet Hans Heinrich Lochmann - powerful guild member and citizen of Zurich in the 16th century. He and his family lived in the House To The Blue Sky, the historic building which today houses the guild museum. Short film sequences (10 min) in each of the three rooms tell the history of the city and its guilds. One tells of the Lochmann family, another takes you on a boat ride on the river in the 18th century.
There are no historic artefacts here, but the architecture around you lived through all these stories and the films bring the orginal scene to life. For English speakers the films are run in English. Reckon roughly one hour for a visit.
