Zurich

Leibacher Biber

more than a year ago
While biber, a sort of gingerbread with honey that often comes with an almond filling, has its origins in the canton of Appenzell in eastern Switzerland, brothers Claudio and Silvan Leibacher have brought this tradition to Zurich. Since some years they've produced these sweet treats in their factory taking all of the necessary steps on their own. They even carved the moulds, which are used to create various chapes and designs for these little delicacies. Their biber definitely make for a good snack or gift. You can find them at Berg und Tal, the Hiltl vegetarian grocery store or at the Globus department store.
