With its white tiles (not just behind the bar but on the bar and the ceiling too), pink floor and slim square neon lights, Milieu is a true minimalistic eye-catcher. The name is a reference to the red light bar it used to be - a district with red light venues is commonly referred to as milieu in Swiss German - and its location on Brauerstrasse still has a couple of true milieu bars, but most have been taken over by the city's hip crowd by now. At Milieu, they usually sip cocktails (some options based on rosé wine are available) or beer and wonder what the night has in the cards for them.
