Widder strikes with an all-new concept: Follow the Flavour. Toni Staub's kitchen crew have designed dishes (from starters to cocktails) around a certain flavour, such as curry, chilli or cilantro. You simply choose a couple of plates and the fun begins. The ribs we chose from the 'smoke signs' flavour were so soft, the meat nearly fell off the bone on its own and the smokey barbecue sauce added the desired smokey taste. The tuna tartar from the 'basil bash' flavour was served with a small ball of Thai basil ice cream and cucumber pearls, which were an explosion for the senses. The same can be said of the calamari, chorizo and olives from the 'chilli caveat' section of the menu. Five white and five red wines are sold by the glass here (and poured from huge magnum bottles), but many more can of course be ordered by the bottle. The service was attentive and charming without being even a little stiff, which is how we expect it to be these days. All in all, an excellent evening from start to finish.
