Although primarily a festival for theatre enthusiasts, for 18 days the Landiwiese Park on the western side of the lake also turns into a magical area full of restaurants, food stalls and bars, not to mention nine stages (one of them open-air and nearly on the lake) hosting dozens of different theatre and dance productions. It's worth a visit even if you don't want to see a performance as the atmosphere on a late summer evening is unbeatable. Take in the scent of food from every corner of the globe and marvel at the view of street artists on every corner that make you feel as if you've just entered some secret oriental bazaar.
