Café Absinthe

Targ Węglowy (Teatr Wybrzeże), Gdańsk ,   Old Town          (+48) 58 320 37 84     more than a year ago
An old-favourite of ours and after all these years we’re still not entirely sure why. A fairly basic bar in a corner of the theatre building on Targ Weglowy it does have a great selection of draft and bottled beers, a DJ booth and a dancefloor - that’s it in a nutshell. But the fact is it works and it’s been working for years. The loyal crowd is a mix of people from all over the place who love a good night plus the lack of neighbours here mean that the party goes on long into the morning (unlike in the main part of town)...and, on that note, they will be opened just until The New Year's Eve and after that they will close for good. So make sure you visit before they call it a day!

I'm the owner, and I'd just like to add that we have a MultiTap with a range of the best Polish craft beers, and quite a selection of bottled as well. Poland has been undergoing a brewing revolution, making excellent world class IPAs, stouts, ambers, and quite a number of truly excentric beers as well. The staff will happily help you out. Cheers.

When living in Gdansk went there all the time! It was great and met awesome people there. It is also true that some nights were calm, but overall seen and almost done everything there. I recomend it!

Yeah, not that great to be honest. Took a while to get served and didn't seem to have mich atmosphere. We went on a Friday night. Although I found Gdansk on a Friday to be pretty quiet. We went out in Sopot on Saturday though which was really good.

Well Barry you are obviously in the wrong game. Your first comment on Cafe Absinthe is in my opinion somewhat 3rd year. As for "thugs and slugs" somewhat provincial. As for final comment"mugs" I will leave that for you to ingest. RP.
