Everard Read Gallery has forged a strong reputation over the past two decades for championing contemporary sculpture and the gallery kicks off the year with a celebration of the latest in South African sculptural art. Taking place in the distinctive Circa Gallery, itself a local architectural landmark, the group exhibition 3D in 22 presents works by six South African sculptors including Dylan Lewis, Deborah bell and Angus Taylor.

Meanwhile showing simultaneously at the Everard Read Gallery across the road is a new exhibition by Joburg artist Wayne Barker. Known for his anarchic approach to the politics of everyday South African life and popular culture, Barker uses bold colour, collage, neon and found objects to reconfigure iconic images in his always engaging works.
