Not an art exhibition, this is Part 2 of the trailblazing Body Worlds exhibition that has been seen by more than 40 million people globally.

Body World's Vital is a fascinating look at what lies beneath the skin of the average human body. Take a tour of the body to discover its miracles and marvels, it’s strengths and weaknesses and its need for movement in order to thrive (It's hard to leave this exhibition without planning how to do more exercise, smoke less and eat healthily).

Along the way you’ll be confronted with jaw-dropping facts that include: the human skeleton weighs between 7kg and 9kg and yet is stronger than reinforced concrete, and the smallest bones in the body take up less space than a fly and are responsible for our hearing.

This critically acclaimed exhibition features 180 plastinated bodies and displays of transparent organs and individual body slices, giving insight into the unique movement and functions of the human body. The exhibition sensitively makes use of donor bodies, ensuring anatomical correctness and allowing visitors to see all the marvellous complexities of the inner workings of the human anatomy. A high-tech anatomical mirror, videos and an audio guide offers an interactive experience, made more so by the sheer wonder of the displays.

The exhibition is located at Sci-Bono so leave time to explore other parts of the science centre which has a number of interesting displays.

(open 7 days a week)
